FACES raises over $16,200 for December 2008 campaign to Perú

On a balmy summer evening illuminated by candles and sparkling chains of lights, FACES supporters came together to enjoy choice wine, delectable appetizers, and each other’s company.

Approximately 70 people attended the August 28 benefit at Quisisana, the Waverly Estate home of Terry Schandel. Alfredo Muro, renowned Peruvian guitarist and friend of FACES, entranced the crowd with his amazing skills on the guitar. His music rose into the night, resounding against the elegant backdrop of towering oak trees.

Brief talks by Drs. Jeff Israel and Tom Albert, and Gay Smith (founder of Café Femenino), outlined the new vision of FACES to partner with Green Empowerment, Café Femenino and Kobos Coffee on the December 2008 trip to Chiclayo, Peru.

Due to the benevolence of loyal donors and generous sponsors, FACES procured more than $16,200 through ticket sales and other contributions including sponsorships of surgeries for the children.
